Vertical Blue 2022 starts today with a world record attempt

The sense of anticipation is immense as the world’s most prestigious freediving competition – vertical blue – kicks off today at Dean’s Blue Hole in the Bahamas.

Forty-two freedivers from around the world have arrived and are ready to compete in Constant weight without fins (CNF), constant weight (CWT), and Free immersion (FIM) between August 1 and August 11, 2022.

As usual, the line-up for the first day of the competition promises to be spectacular – with 9 national records announced, 2 continental records and Alenka Artnik (Slovenia) seeking to establish a constant weight (CWT) World record with a dive of 123m.

The action starts at 9am Eastern, 6am Pacific, 2pm UK and 7pm Sydney/AEST and don’t forget to get your live stream pass for Diveye.
